A medium-sized station
Skiing in the French Pyrenees is a way to turn the tortilla, or rather, the mountain: if you are one of those who always stay on the south side, you will love the landscapes that can be seen in the French part, just a few more kilometers. In the region of Midi-Pyrenees we find a good choice of French Pyrenees skiing, the slopes of Peyragudes.
They add a total of 60 kilometers distributed in 50 tracks of different levels, although the intermediate ones predominate. Specifically, there are 5 greens for beginners; 22 blue, for those who have something more to handle with the skis and the board; 20 red, for intermediate skiers; and 4 blacks, for experts.
The union of two ski resorts
Peyragudes has not always been the same ski resort. The most veteran of the place may remember in their trips to the snow in France until the 90s that there were two here: Peyresourde (west) and Les Agudes (east).
Since 1988 they are a unique space that has made him win in competitiveness and attraction for lovers of mountain sports. With these ski offers Peyragudes you can immerse yourself in some tracks surrounded by incredible "tresmiles" peaks in the Louron valley and that extend for 15 hectares. The unevenness is more than interesting: they go from 1,600 to 2,400 meters in height.
Peyragudes, tradition and modernity
A ski trip to Peyragudes will be the mix between both concepts. The first, because you will be in a rural environment, peaceful, quiet and with ingrained customs. The second, because this ski resort is known for its technological advances: for example, it was the first to install artificial snow cannons and detachable chairlifts. They also control the status of the tracks and possible incidents with a GPS system ... and much more to discover in this part of the French Pyrenees!
